THE GREY HOUSE is an attractive 18th century property which has been recently restored and completely modernised to a high standard. It is in fact a whitewashed building and stands alone in a magnificent position on the Inverlael Estate, seven miles south of Ullapool, up a gravel track off the main A835.
Steeped in legend and history, the cottage retains all its original charm and character with the emphases on comfort, practicality and trouble-free self catering.
Light floods the house from dawn until dusk through large windows on both sides of most rooms. The views down Loch Broom from the west face are stunning, particularly at sunset, and those up towards Ben Dearg from the east face are truly breathtaking.
Take to the hills among the eagles and the deer – the path to Ben Dearg begins just across the field – picnic by the river or in the forest, paddle at the head of the loch or go fishing (Inverlael lets fishing on two rivers) – all this is literally on your doorstep, no driving required. Then head home to the welcoming blaze of a log fire and watch the sun going down over Loch Broom.
